Patient Information

Glenelg Orthopaedics is situated at 14 Waterloo Street, Glenelg. We are open between 9.00 am – 5.00 pm Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays). Dr Nimon is a private specialist and you will require a current referral from a general practitioner to receive a Medicare rebate. GP referrals expire after 12 months. Referrals from a Specialist expires after 3 months.

Making an Appointment
All appointments can be made by telephoning the Glenelg rooms on (08) 376 9988 and the earliest available time will be made for you.

Dr Nimon also consults from the Western Hospital ,North Adelaide Specialist Centre and Central Districts Private Hospital.These sites have different consulting days and times. If you require an appointment at one of these sites, please advise our staff when you telephone our Glenelg office on (08) 8376 9988 to make an appointment.

If you or your referring GP consider that your problem is of an urgent nature, please ask your GP to telephone our rooms and we can advise Dr Nimon.

When making your appointment, if you have any mobility difficulties, please let us know. A ramp is available at the rear of the building and arrangements can be made for you enter via the rear entrance.

Your First Visit
On your first visit to Glenelg Orthopaedics, please allow time for parking. There are 2hr and 3 hr car parks available on the street. Parking availability on the premises is for staff only.

Dr Nimon requires certain information from you to best assist in your treatment and therefore at your first visit, you will be asked to complete a Patient Information Sheet and a Privacy Consent Form. Therefore, make sure you bring the following with you:

• Reading glasses
• Current referral from GP
• Medicare Card
• Pension Card
• Private Health Insurance Card
• Any x-rays or scans you may have of your problem area
• List of current medications and dosages
• List of any known allergies
• Details of any physiotherapy treatment
• Details or copies of relevant medical or operation reports

Remember to wear comfortable clothing that will allow you to expose the joint or limb to be examined.

Payment of fees
We do ask that full payment be made on the day of consultation. Medicare will cover 75% of the cost of your consultation.

If you are claiming through a work related incident or third party claim please make sure you bring the paper work advising of the acceptance of your claim, date of injury, claim number, and the name of your insurance company and case manager, details of your employee i.e. address and telephone number. Your accounts can then be directed to the appropriate company for payment.

Dr Nimon is gap covered with most health funds. Please ask at the time of making your appointment of these details.

Appointment cancellations
If you are unable to keep an appointment please telephone our rooms as soon as possible to arrange another time, and enable us to offer your appointment to another patient.
